With the new Global Series, Massey Ferguson has taken the concept of the utility tractor and re-engineered it from the ground up to meet the needs of present and future farming.
The MF 4700 Global Series tractors feature all new synchromesh transmissions. With 6 automotive style synchronised gears and a synchronised low to high range exchange – providing unmatched flexibility and easy use.
The engines used in the MF 4700 Series are all of a long stroke design that provides high levels of torque across a broad speed range.
The 4WD front axles feature a 55° maximum steering angle, making the machines very manoeuvrable and easy to use in confined spaces.

Maximum torque is achieved at a low engine speed of 1500 rpm on both models.
With a low engine speed of only 2200 rpm, now only is diesel use minimised, but so too are both noise and wear & tear.

Easy on the operator - standard variant
Fitted to all standard variants is a simple, easy to use synchronised mechanical forward/reverse shuttle. Clutch operation is a simple & effective mechanical dry plate type.
Easy on the operator - Essential variant
The Essential variant features the Power Control Lever - located to the left of the steering column.
Functions include:
Clutchless direction change.
Speed of direction change can be altered using the Comfort Control dial.
De-clutch by lifting the handle to enable gear changes without the clutch pedal.
